I’m proud to introduce the GRACIE Act with Rep. Wagner to financially support states that voluntarily choose to record official child protective service interviews.

The Promoting Childhood Independence and Resilience Act ensures that reasonable unsupervised activities do not constitute child neglect and educates child welfare agencies about the salience of independent activity.

I’m thrilled that this bill has generated strong bipartisan support and passed the House of Representatives today.

I had some good polling to suggest we were in about this range, and excited to see it play out — excited to have the support of northern Utah.
