I think we ought to clarify for the record that only a legal permanent resident can serve in the Armed Services. Someone who is in the country illegally cannot serve in the armed forces. They have to be a legal permanent resident. We may have given the impression that some individuals were here illegally and were allowed to serve but that is not government policy.
