Mr. Speaker, I want to repeat again that the underlying bill has the support of both the Republican leadership and the administration. And the reason it has garnered such bipartisan support is because it does target companies that have historically been the abusers of the H-1B program. It does target companies who in the past have not hired American workers when they should have, and it targets companies that in the past may have fired American workers and replaced them with foreign workers. In addition to that, it also provides the needed high-tech employees for our high-tech companies which will generate more jobs in the economy and help our economy continue to expand. So, Mr. Speaker, I do want to encourage my colleagues to vote against the Watt amendment and vote for the underlying bill.
