Mr. Speaker, I want to thank Mr. Cardoza from California for bringing this bill to the House floor, and I agree with my friend from Tennessee (Mr. Cohen) that we need to refocus on the legislation presently before the House of Representatives. This bill brings a close to a long memory, a bad memory in the United States of the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II. We need to show all Americans, and in this case, Japanese Americans, the due respect that they are entitled to, as being American citizens. And that's why this resolution is very important to establish the Merced Center in California. I yield back the balance of my time, and urge the adoption of this resolution.
