Mr. Speaker, the House in a bipartisan way passed five energy bills months ago. These bills will create American energy jobs right here in America. These bills would allow more energy development in the Gulf of Mexico, in Virginia and in Alaska. One bill requires the administration to make a decision about the Keystone XL Pipeline, which would put more citizens to work. So what's the delay? These five bipartisan bills are languishing in the Senate with no vote in sight. It's not that the Senate has voted these jobs bills down. The Senate just won't vote. To my friends down the hallway in the Senate, how about voting on these bills? Doing nothing doesn't create energy or jobs. Doing nothing maintains unemployment and shows an inability to make a decision. It's time for the Senate to pick a horse and ride it. But pick something. Get in the race. Being a spectator is not an option. The American people need the jobs, and we need the energy. We just can't wait. And that's just the way it is. ____________________
