I think what this all really comes down to is whether you believe that it is important for the future of this country to try to have a balanced budget. Every State in the Union has it, every city council, every school board, and every family certainly tries to. And if you incur debt, you figure out how to pay it back within a reasonable period of time. Your budget does not do that. In fact, the chart to my right shows the Republican budget in action. It shows it in fiscal year 2004 we will be paying in the red $338 billion in interest.
