On the recordMay 2, 2001
I had the opportunity in my district to be in several pharmacies to talk about this issue, and just as I was there talking about the issue people would come in trying to fill their prescriptions. One lady came to the gathering that was just in a local grocery store, not too far from the pharmacy counter, and she said I am glad to hear what you are saying. I did not know you were going to be here, but I was just in here yesterday and left my prescription; and I was just back at the window to pick it up, and when the pharmacist told me how much it was, I told him he would have to just keep it. Those are the kinds of problems that seniors are having today. They are very real. They are very serious and ones we must tend to in this Congress.
