I see today's hearing as a timely opportunity to focus on bringing more solutions to the table about how to improve the disability claims processing system to produce better outcomes for our veterans.

We need more money for border infrastructure, not less. The $140 million that Congress authorized is insufficient to meet the needs along our borders, much less to meet the needs of corridors throughout this Nation.

I do hope we are careful with those reductions, because in the final analysis, the ones that pay the price are the service men and women and their families.

I support the program because in the future there is a very good chance that our military will have to overcome sophisticated air defense systems.
