I am encouraged that we are doing some things right and helping a lot of people who under the conditions that our ranking member, Bobby Scott, gave that could not afford it or had preexisting medical conditions, are now covered.

Small businesses and Main Street are the lifeblood of our economy. We should be doing everything we can to ensure that Main Street America is able to prosper.

It is absolutely essential to have a bird's-eye view of our financial system, in order to identify and prevent systemic risks from destabilizing our entire economy.

But it was interesting to me that the same arguments that I hear my friends on the other side of the aisle that businesses will close and things will go to hell just didn't pan out.
