Over a year later, Hamas still holds hostages--some dead but many alive. In response to these truly horrific attacks, Israel has defended itself from Hamas and other Iranian terrorist proxies. I would have expected the international community to unequivocally condemn these barbaric terrorist attacks by Hamas and support Israel's fight for survival. However, corrupt international organizations like the International Criminal Court have issued arrest warrants against Israeli officials for simply trying to defend themselves and defend their country. The ICC's anti-Semitism speaks volumes. This is an unacceptable attack against our greatest ally, and the United States must make it clear that those who participate in these illegitimate prosecutions from the ICC are subject to the strongest possible sanctions. America needs leadership, and this is where we need it. Mr. Speaker, I urge my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to stand with Israel and to vote for H.R. 23. Mr. McGOVERN. Mr. Speaker, I yield myself such time as I may consume. Mr. Speaker, if the United States of America stands for anything, we need to stand out loud and foursquare for human rights. That means we have to hold ourselves accountable, our allies accountable, and our adversaries accountable when they don't live up to those standards.…”
