As we have heard today, there is bipartisan agreement that Department of Labor oversight of the Black Lung Disability Trust Fund has fallen short for decades during both Democrat and Republican administrations.

I mean, this is the two--the two points that I really want to drive home in this hearing. The first is that we didn't do enough to protect people in nursing homes who are disproportionately non-White.

That is because we still have freedom and opportunity in Texas, partly because we are a right-to-work State.

Expanding internet access is critical to driving economic growth, reducing poverty, improving education and health care, empowering women, bolstering democratic principles, and advancing U.S. interests around the globe.
