Mr. Chairman, I am not a lawyer, but I profoundly believe that the practice of law is an honorable profession and that the vast majority of the people who practice law in America are honorable people. However, it is the excesses so publicly displayed, so crassly displayed of the contingency fee plaintiff lawyers that has given the law profession such a terrible reputation. And I support this amendment on behalf of the plaintiffs and the legal profession.
