Madam President, I thank the chairman of our committee. He is doing what I would do if I were in his place, in saying: Let's give this nominee an up-or-down vote and let's have a debate on it. Our leaders are working on that, and perhaps that can be accomplished. But it must be noted that this is a nominee who has some controversy. I yield the floor. ____________________

This is an embarrassment, in my opinion, and I think the opinion of most people where I represent in Texas, that we are encouraging this behavior.
We cannot separate this conspiracy from the Russian-Ukraine War because Trump has no intention to keep aiding Ukraine.
That is why we respect the ability of local people to make local decisions and to come up with an answer.
