I will just say this. The Senator is correct in saying this legislation deals with the penalty provision and does not attempt to increase taxes on married couples, to try to reach some sort of ideal level. It is designed to provide relief from the penalty that occurs. Does the Senator propose that we increase the taxes on those who may be paying less because they are married?
