Does the Senator, based on his broad experience in affairs, conclude that this country has the unique history of being a genuinely religious country, but a country that knows how to handle different religions and faiths? As a matter of history, is it not almost unique in the history of the world how we have been able to affirm religious faith and, at the same time, avoid sectarian violence?
