I support Ted Olson's nomination to be the next Solicitor General. Certain charges were made, but they have been investigated and, in my view, have been found wholly without merit. The charges were raised in a newspaper article in the Washington Post the day that the vote was scheduled on Mr. Olson's nomination. Some of the Senators questioned the article. Subsequently, after the facts were examined, the Washington Post endorsed Ted Olson for this position.
