What, are we going to wait until December 31? Is that when we are going to deal with this? As Senator Ayotte suggests, we should do it now because it is the responsible thing to do to fix this problem and not leave the Defense Department in turmoil. They will not even send an answer to our request--Senator Thune, myself, Senator McCain--on where the cuts are going to occur, I guess because they do not want to or they do not know yet. But this is turmoil within the Department.”
