“I would just like to convey to my good friend from Georgia, that I was prepared to offer an amendment to his bill that would remedy this inequity, by providing private schools the same fair and equitable treatment as is currently provided to public institutions of higher learning. However, it is my understanding that the Senator from Georgia plans to work with the Senate Finance Committee Chairman, Senator Roth, and our other colleagues during the conference on this bill to fix this disparity and provide a level playing field for private universities and colleges.”
