“I was proud to participate on June 4, 2014, with the National Energy Resource Organization when it presented its Distinguished Service Award to our colleague, Senator Jim Inhofe. Since 1978, NERO has recognized in a nonpartisan manner outstanding achievements in the energy field, particularly in the areas of public awareness regarding energy development and use. In addition to working for 30 years in the private sector, Jim is the past mayor of Tulsa, U.S. Congressman, and has represented the State of Oklahoma in the U.S. Senate since 1994. Senator Inhofe was recognized for his service as the lead Republican on the Senate Environment & Public Works Committee for 10 years, 4 of those years as its chairman.
