I could not agree more. A half-dozen years ago, the people who are leading the filibuster were the very ones objecting to it. But Senator Hatch and the Republicans, isn't it fair to say, have been consistent? Mr. McCONNELL. Absolutely. Let's just be fair here. I would say to both of my colleagues, without getting into the details of any particular nomination, that I think the Democrats have arguably a legitimate complaint--it has a patina of legitimacy--when they argue that we simply did in committee what they are doing on the floor.
