We need to protect our endangered species, but we need to do it in a smart way.

Arbitrary deadlines do not help. Neither do sweeping listings that threaten the communities and landowners.

Getting these projects done has become an incredibly difficult process. These projects need to be reviewed and they need to be safe, but once we have done our due diligence, foot dragging is malpractice.

It's not a matter of 'if,' but 'when' the next storm will hit.
