It is with great respect and honor that I rise today to recognize Jimmy Dodson as he completes his term as the chair of the Farm Credit Council Board of Directors. Jimmy is a third-generation farmer, and he grows cotton, corn, wheat, milo…

It is not a matter of taking the benefits away from folks who meet the requirements; it is making sure that those scarce resources go to the ones who need it the most.

We have a SNAP program. It is important, and we are going to keep it. The issue is, how do we administer that program that is fair to the folks who need the benefits and is also fair to the taxpayers?

We urge Congress to continue to provide people the means to access healthy food.
