Advances in biotechnology are key to the future of agriculture and to ensuring the world has an adequate and stable supply of food. Those advances can only be maintained if we preserve interstate commerce while turning the page on a debate that has unnecessarily maligned this lifesaving technology. I stand in support of this bill and encourage my colleagues to vote ``yes.'' Mr. Speaker, I reserve the balance of my time.
