Mr. Speaker, I thank my friend for yielding. I rise today in support of this very important rule. Specifically, I rise in support of Israel following the attack on Israel by Iran this past weekend. This direct attack on Israel is unprecedented. It does mark the first time that Iran has directly attacked Israel from Iranian soil. In total, more than 300 drones were launched toward Israel, severely injuring a 7-year-old girl and damaging a military base. While the United States worked with longstanding allies to help assist in the interception of these missiles and drones, it is clear that the stability of the region is only as strong as the Israeli- United States partnership. Understanding this and the gravity of Iran's attack, Republicans have put forth legislation this week to condemn the attack and reaffirm our support for Israel. Be assured, Mr. Speaker, Israel does have a right to self-defense. This rule and the underlying legislation in the rule reaffirms the United States' commitment to Israel's security, it designates the Houthis as a foreign terrorist organization, and it holds Iran accountable for their support of proxy wars and terrorism in the region. Mr. Speaker, it is important that the United States take up these measures and ensure the safety of Israel and the safety of the United States.
