“This amendment would authorize the Department of Energy Innovation Hubs. These integrated research platforms conduct fundamental research to address critical challenges in energy technology. Currently, DOE operates four hubs, which all focus on the critical energy issues. They include the Consortium for Advanced Simulation of Light Water Reactors, which uses high performance computation modeling to simulate and improve reactors. And it includes the Joint Center for Energy Storage Research, which focuses on developing the next generation of battery technologies. My thanks go to the gentleman from Florida (Mr. Grayson), a very active and alert member of the Science, Space, and Technology Committee, for offering this amendment and for working with us to develop this bipartisan amendment.
