Mr. Speaker, when the Obama Administration launched Healthcare.gov, Americans were led to believe that the website was safe and secure. As the Science, Space, and Technology Committee learned at our hearing in November, this was not the case. Healthcare.gov comprises one of the largest collections of personal information ever assembled. The Administration has a responsibility to ensure that Americans' personal and financial data is secure. And individuals should be notified when their personal information has been compromised. Instead, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services chose not to notify individuals when a security breach occurs. This bill makes sure that individuals get the information they need to protect themselves. By alerting users when a security breach occurs on the ObamaCare website, they can take action to limit the consequences. If the Administration won't protect the privacy and security of Americans, then Congress should. The SPEAKER pro tempore. All time for debate has expired. Pursuant to House Resolution 455, the previous question is ordered on the bill. The question is on the engrossment and third reading of the bill. The bill was ordered to be engrossed and read a third time, and was read the third time. The SPEAKER pro tempore. The question is on the passage of the bill. The question was taken; and the Speaker pro tempore announced that the ayes appeared to have it.
