partial birth abortion is one of the more barbaric procedures of modern times. Doctors confirm it is never medically necessary. Never. So much so that it is not even taught in our nation's medical schools. Yet more than 3,000 healthy babies are subject to this horrible procedure each year. Too many of them are more than 5 months old in fetal development--able to live outside the womb if just given the same chance as you and me. Today we have an opportunity to protect our nation's mothers. Today we can save the lives of precious babies too tiny to save themselves. Today we ban partial birth abortions and close this grisly chapter in America's history.
