what a silly amendment. People who live in public housing often complain they do so because they do not have a job, or the job that they have does not pay enough to live in housing like many others have the privilege to do. To punish them who are trying to get off of welfare and out of public housing by discouraging the very jobs that they need is silly. Exports now and imports are creating about 40 percent of all new jobs in this country. In our area, in the Houston region, and where we have a lot of people in public housing, one out of every three new jobs is related to export-import, and they may more than domestic jobs. The Eximbank levels the playing field for American companies and American workers so people in every type of housing have an opportunity to go to work.
