Is there a smarter, is there a better way to encourage, reward charitable giving?

I would much rather, in a simpler code that lowers tax rates, I'd much rather send my money to my church or charity than to my accountant.

My worry is that when I send my taxes to Washington, I've noticed there is a middle man who takes a pretty big chunk out of that dollar and ...
