Kay Bailey Hutchison is a former U.S. Senator from Texas, serving from 1993 to 2013. A member of the Republican Party, she was the first woman to represent Texas in the Senate. During her tenure, Hutchison was known for her work on issues such as space exploration, military funding, and education. She played a significant role in advocating for NASA and was a strong supporter of human spaceflight initiatives. Hutchison also served as the chair of the Senate Republican Conference and was involved in various bipartisan efforts throughout her career.
I don't see the wisdom of this policy, and especially since the subcommittee has a history of not allowing congressional inserts unless the project is a validated DOD requirement in a FYDP.
So you are moving on schedule, as long as the MILCON stays on schedule, to move those troops as originally determined earlier in BRAC?
I believe we need to look at that standard as for what it is that newspaper companies and how they can get a fair return for the investment they're making and the journalism we're publishing digitally.
I hope that we can come to some conclusions that will not just be another highway authorization bill.
Many of those states, including Texas, are forced to bear an unfair burden through the current funding scheme.
I think this is the time to start this debate, and I hope that we can come to agreement on what is equitable for all of our states, not just some.
I think it is time for us to start looking at perhaps different ways of dividing this up where you have some high-growth states that are hurting for highway money.
