Americans have paid into Social Security with the expectation that the benefits they earned would provide the foundation for their retirement, and Congress has a responsibility to keep that promise.
“The agreement says it can’t be changed, but except by, you know, the parties, so that would have to be in writing,” Cornyn said.
Those are the issues we’re continuing to discuss with the administration to see whether we can get a modification of the settlement agreement.
