“Mr. President, reserving the right to object, I think one of the most offensive things about this government shutdown is that our men and women in uniform are being used as political pawns. That is why I am surprised to see so many of our Democratic colleagues force us into a 2-day government shutdown as part of their strategy and call into question our commitment to fund our military and support their families.
