This morning I had a very good conversation with judge Merrick Garland, who President Biden has nominated for attorney general.

Ultimately, it’s just speculation as to who might actually make a claim for immunity.

We want to express our gratitude to Mr Blanche and his staff for working with us on this, and we look forward to voting to advance his nomination out of the Senate Judiciary Committee soon.

I think I am prepared to vote no, but I do think I owe it to my constituents and to Mr. Blanche to try to negotiate in good faith.
