“I didn't come to the floor to speak on this matter, but listening to the comments of my friend from Illinois about the contributions made by immigrants to our country, I wholeheartedly agree with him about that. Really, when I think about immigration, I think it is really sort of the secret sauce to American success. They are part of our great Nation and make tremendous contributions. The Hispanics in my State are patriots. They volunteer in disproportionate numbers to serve in the military. They work at jobs that are very difficult. They are very tight-knit families. They are people of faith.…”
