I rise today to honor a group of heroes that have been a lifeline for the people of Lubbock County for 50 years: the UMC Emergency Medical Services team. Since their first 911 response back in November 1975, well before the University Medical Center Hospital even opened its doors, UMC EMS has been on the front lines of saving lives and serving our communities in west Texas. We are fortunate to have the highest level of healthcare and emergency response professionals protecting our families. In fact, UMC EMS is one of just 46 EMS systems worldwide with a dual accreditation. Their team has earned the American Heart Association's Mission: Lifeline Gold Award every year since 2019, a well-deserved honor. Mr. Speaker, I thank everyone at UMC EMS, past and present, for their unparalleled care, for their endless compassion, and most of all, their commitment to excellence and service to the people of west Texas. I congratulate them on 50 years of incomparable service, and here is to 50 more. God bless America, and go west Texas.
