it could not be more simple and I cannot believe that at least in my district in Texas that 99 percent of my constituents would not want to embrace that idea. Such a simple idea that number one, Social Security ought to be used for Social Security, pure and simple. Second of all, you know own it. Washington cannot take it away. Social Security is used for Social Security, and you own it and Washington cannot take it away. That is what the GROW account is all about. There is nothing more to it. It is that simple, yet it is that important. Again, I think we need to emphasize for those soon-to-be retired, we will be running surpluses. These people will be okay, but it is future generations. That is the challenge that we face now. Too many people in this town care about the next election and not the next generation. We could ignore this problem if we wanted to for 5, 10, 12 years, but how do you look yourself in the mirror and know that you have set the Nation on a course to cut your children and grandchildren's Social Security by a full third or to raise their taxes by 43 percent. That is why it is so important that we start the GROW accounts, dedicate Social Security to Social Security, and let taxpayers own it, not Washington.
