The proposed H.R. 1499, the Good Jobs for Good Airports Act, authored by my mentor and friend and T&I Committee member, Congressman Chuy Garcia, will set national wage and benefit levels at major airports that receive Federal funding and ensures that every airport job is a good job.

Every person working in these airports deserves a living wage with benefits, a safe workplace, and paid time off to spend with their families.
What we got today in testimony is that because of the Police Association's tactics, people that were convicted of crime had to come back and be allowed to work back on the force.
I believe, having done oversight and accountability in prior jobs and now here on this committee, that publicly available body camera footage is a good thing.
Why would we be supporting a measure that allows it so that people criminally convicted for assault on the job could get back onto the force?
I believe that we would be, by moving this forward, repealing important protections for people that should, frankly, have bipartisan support.
We appreciate your consideration of the immense positive impact SNAP has on the lives of millions of Americans as well as its beneficial impact on the national economy and our nation's long-term financial sustainability.
I appreciate how at the beginning of your remarks today you laid out how in the past there has been this view of get big or get out that has really hurt our consumers and our small farmers and small ranchers.
Let's make sure that even on a sometimes uneven playing field of corporate concentration, that they can still make it.
