George W. Bush: “I applaud the Congress for its work on the homeland security legislation.”

We know our words cannot help, but we believe the prayers of so many Americans will.

You've showed the great strength of America through your work—and that is your good heart.

We are heartbroken by the loss of life and the agony so many are feeling.

On this day of prayer, Laura and I are holding up our fellow Texans who are hurting.
