George W. Bush: “Our Nation also depends on the commitment of the civilian employers of the members of the National Guard and Reserve.”

We are heartbroken by the loss of life and the agony so many are feeling.

We are grateful to the first responders and volunteers who are working to find the missing and comfort the grieving at Camp Mystic and along the Guadalupe.

Is it in our interest that 25 million people who would have died now live? I think it is. On behalf of a grateful nation, thank you for your hard work and God bless you.

You've showed the great strength of America through your work—and that is your good heart.
