It is unfortunately front-loaded in deficits and backloaded in savings, which I do not like.
If the House budget reconciliation package does not include structural Medicaid reform that achieves desired Republican outcomes, we will be setting up massive tax increases and benefit cuts in the future.
The policy as it currently exists incentivizes states to add people to the rolls that are decidedly not within the design of Medicaid as envisioned.
For me, it's moving the right bill. We should legislate; we should get it done right.
