earlier today Senator Daschle and I had a productive meeting with Andy Card, the President's chief of staff. At that meeting, Mr. Card committed that there would be no further circuit and district judicial recess appointments during the remainder of the President's term, and the Democratic leader committed to vote on, by the end of June, 25 judicial nominations now pending on the Executive Calendar. I ask Senator Daschle if I have correctly summarized where we now stand on these nominations.
