I concur with Senator Kennedy's remarks regarding this standard as it applies to the food safety provisions in this bill. As 21 C.F.R. 7.41 regarding health hazard evaluation makes clear, the FDA evaluation will take into account a list of factors, one of which is ``an assessment of hazard to various segments of the population, including children, livestock, etc. who are expected to be exposed to the product being considered with particular attention paid to the hazard to those individuals who may be at greatest risk.'' I believe these provisions will help protect the safety and security of our food supply.
