To that end of further enhancing the cooperative efforts between the two institutions, the State of Tennessee and the Congress have, since 1993, funded the planning and construction of a new, joint facility at Mountain Home. The State of Tennessee has provided $12 million thus far, with another $8 million this year. Congress has funded a total of $16.3 million, with the House of Representatives including the final Federal obligation of $15.5 million in their spending bill this year.
