before I begin my remarks today, I want to mention that it is the 76th anniversary of the U.S. Air Force. On behalf of all Tennesseans, I want to recognize the brave men and women who are serving at Arnold Air Force Base, our Air National Guard members, and the Air Force veterans who call Tennessee home. We thank them for their service. Artificial Intelligence Forum Madam President, last week, the majority leader hosted a forum on artificial intelligence. That meeting really complemented the hearings that we have been having on this issue and, indeed, two hearings--one in the Commerce Committee and one in the Judiciary Committee--that we held last week. It is vital that we develop an understanding of what it is going to take to put the guardrails in place for AI. We are going to need to continue regular discussions between policymakers and the industry. We have seen this model work in our favor. In 2019 and 2020, I led the Judiciary Committee's Tech Task Force. This brought experts to the table so that we on the Judiciary Committee could sit down with them, talk with them, learn more about how their technology worked and the dangers that it may pose. We did this with several of our emerging technology sectors. These discussions really yielded great results, and the body became more engaged on technology issues. But we must stay focused and remember that AI raises the same concerns that plague other technological innovations.…
