“Mr. Chairman, I bring this amendment forward tonight, just as I do every single year for these appropriations bills, because it is so important that we get the out-of-control spending here in Washington, D.C., under control. We all know that at this point in time, we are borrowing 40 cents of every single dollar that we spend. Many have revenues that are off 25 or 30 percent. We need to require the bureaucracy to get in behind here and cut another penny. It should be done for our children and our grandchildren. Indeed, if you want to look at what is happening to them, the share of the national debt for my two grandsons is $50,000 each.…”
