I want to talk a little bit for a few minutes about the ever-increasing cost of energy, because certainly we need a long-term policy. Certainly we need to do all those things. But energy is a lot like eating. One can talk about it in the long run, but we eat in the short run. We stay cool. We get in our cars. We need energy in the short term. As I travel through my district now over the last several months, I continue to hear complaints from constituents there about how energy prices are rising and there is no end in sight. Even when they go up and they come down, they do not come back down anywhere near where the last level was, hoping people are comfortable, knowing they are going up again.
