My older son liked one of the teachers. We had her home for dinner because he just idolized her. All of a sudden, that is why this is so important to be taught and integrated in the curriculum, because teachers do have a significant impact. They can change lives, there is no question. They are changing lives every single day in classrooms across this country, because those young minds are like little sponges, they really are. They can be changed and molded for good. I certainly know teachers made a difference in my life, and in telling me that I could be whatever I wanted to be. I never had the idea of being in the United States Congress, but they at least told me I could go to college. For a lot of children, that is what they need. I think the gentleman is absolutely correct in what he said. Teachers have a great opportunity. I think we have a great challenge of honoring what they do every day.
