I thank the gentlewoman from New Jersey for her very eloquent statement, but also for laying out a pathway out of poverty. It is comprehensive. We have to do this together in an integrated approach. Whether it is child care, whether it is housing, whether it is SNAP benefits, whether it is higher education, whether it is K-12, Congresswoman Watson Coleman has laid out the intricacies of what we mean when we talk about pathways out of poverty. I thank the gentlewoman very much for taking us to the next level in terms of how we need to really view our strategies. Mr. Speaker, I now yield to the gentleman from Maryland (Mr. Hoyer), our Democratic whip, who has really insisted that we, as a body, look at how we develop our pathways out of poverty within the context of our Task Force on Poverty, Income Inequality, and Opportunity, because it takes opportunity to help lift people out of poverty. Again, I thank the gentleman from Maryland for making this a priority for this body and for continuing to beat the drum on behalf of those who have the least.
