“I want to thank Congresswoman Plaskett for hosting this Special Order and for her kind words, but also for her commitment to providing healthcare for all Americans, for her leadership in the Caribbean Caucus, for her dedicated constituent representation of her constituents in her district, and also being the epitome of why Caribbean American Heritage Month is so important. There are so many Caribbean Americans throughout our country who have contributed so much to the fabric of our society, and so I am really proud to be with her tonight. And thank you for signing H. Con. Res. 71 because that was during the days of the bipartisanship spirit. If a Barbara Lee and a George Bush could work together, then that says something.”
