This has impacts everywhere. In Illinois today, there are over 40,000 green card applicants, plus their spouses and children, who are stuck in an interminable green card backlog that is morally indefensible. We must change this. I hope and I encourage my colleague to change his mind. We can pass this today. We could make our country a better place as a result. Thank you.”
